Upcoming:
Weirdo Guise present…
Friday 17th February:
The Pheromoans
http://thepheromoans.blogspot.com/
The Pheromoans first played in Leeds at the Fenton when touring with Tyvek in March last year, they utterly divided the audience, leaving less than half utterly ecstatic. The group have been having a ball since then, having grown in number by one to become a six piece, released two LPs and two 12" mini albums, and have really hit their stride with their distinctly British flavoured shoddy, skewed punk, writing forever stronger songs whilst still maintaining a total flair for ineptitude.
Beards
A real group of real musicians who will demonstrate on the night, with ease, how a trio can give it more oomph than any group with twice as many members. Expect whacked-out guitar chords over one of the best rhythm sections in the business. Beards make music that you'd expect only massive fans of bIG fLAME could ever produce, played , like bIG fLAME, by three Brits, but living in 2012 and not 1984, who have never properly heard bIG fLAME, but who are obsessive over the Minutemen, got that?
Wim Wams
http://soundcloud.com/wimwams/sets
Following the failure of their first gig in August of last year, the Wams have finally plucked up the courage to embarrass themselves for everyone's benefit once more. Expect poorly played original rockers complete with far too many wailing guitar solos from this unwholesome 5/6ths local six piece. Featuring everyone's favourite Hipshake (that's the drummer), Bruce Sargent, on vocals.
At The Fox and Newt, 8pm, £4.00
